This special edition of The Spin-Off Report Radar Screen highlights companies holding assets that could potentially be dropped down into master limited partnerships (MLPs). Since the beginning of 2011, at least 27 MLPs have either conducted an initial public offering (IPO) or have filed registration statements with the SEC with the intention of making a future offering. In particular, oil and gas companies with significant midstream operations have found success in monetizing those segments by dropping part or all of the assets into an MLP.
